Appearance, language and region

Set your theme, text size, start page, language, currency, timezone and date format. For admins: company defaults, locks, and your brand.

Help Centre › Administration

Most of what you see can be set to suit you. Your choices are your own and do not change anyone else's. A company admin can set defaults for everyone, and lock some of them.

1. Light or dark

Go to Settings › Appearance › Theme and choose:

  • Match system: follows the dark mode setting on your device.
  • Light: always the light theme.
  • Dark: always the dark theme.

2. Make it easier to read

Settings › Appearance › Display has:

  • Text size: Standard, Smaller, Larger or Largest.
  • Density: Comfortable, or Compact for more rows on the screen.
  • Animations: Follow my device, or Reduce for no animations.
  • Contrast: Standard, or High for darker text and borders.
  • Single-key shortcuts: keys like / to search, and g then a letter to go to a page. Turn them off if you use speech input or press keys by accident; shortcuts held with Ctrl or ⌘ still work. Press ? to see every shortcut.

3. Start page, lists and menu

  • Settings › Appearance › Start page and lists: choose your Start page (where you open after signing in), whether Lists open as Cards or List, and the order lists open in. A list you have switched yourself stays as you left it.
  • Settings › Appearance › Menu: choose which items show in the left menu, and drag them into the order you want.

4. Language and region

Go to Settings › My account › Regional settings. You can set:

  • Language
  • Currency
  • Timezone
  • Date format and the clock (12 or 24 hours)
  • First day of the week
  • Number format
  • Unit of measure: Metric or US

Dates and times across the app are shown in your timezone.

5. If a setting is locked

If your company has locked a setting, you cannot change it, and the page says so. For example, the start page shows "… has set the start page for everyone", and the menu says it is the menu for everyone. Ask a company admin if you need it changed.

6. For company admins

Defaults for people

Settings › Standards and templates › Defaults for people sets what people get until they choose their own: language, currency, timezone, date format, clock, first day of the week, number format, unit of measure, theme and menu. Anyone who has already chosen keeps their choice.

Under Lock, switch on any setting that must be the same for everyone. A locked setting applies to everyone, and people cannot change their own. The start page is set under Settings › Branding › Landing page and can be locked here too.

Your brand

Settings › Branding sets how the app looks for everyone in your company:

  • Import from your website reads your logo, icon and colours from your site, and lets you choose what to use.
  • Colours, Font, Logo and Website icon (favicon). Click a colour to preview it; nobody else sees it until you save. The page warns you if text on your colour would be hard to read.
  • Landing page: where everyone opens after signing in, unless they pick their own.
  • Announcement: a message shown to everyone, such as planned downtime, as Information, Warning or Good news, with an optional link and end date.
  • Support contact: who your people should ask for help.
  • Sign-in page: your own sign-in page with your logo and colour. It needs your email domain proven under Email domains, and is off until you switch it on.
  • White label: your own product name where ours shows, on plans that include White label.
  • History: every recent version of your brand, to Restore.

Your own words

On plans that include Custom terminology, Settings › Standards and templates › Terms and language lets you rename platform terms to match your organisation, and Wording by language lets you set your own words for any text of the app, in each language.
