Help Centre › Building Processes
Send an email via your own SMTP server (requires a prior email_connect step).
Add it to a process
In the process designer, open the Add step tab. Find Send email (SMTP) under Email › Messages, or type its name in the search box, and drag it onto the canvas.
Fields
| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| To | Yes | Recipient email address(es), comma-separated |
| Subject | Yes | The subject line. You can include values, e.g. Invoice {invoice[number]} received. |
| Body (plain text) | No | The message as plain text. Use {variable} to add values, e.g. Dear {customer}. If you also fill in the HTML body, mail apps that can show HTML show that one instead. |
| Attachments | No | File paths to attach, one per line. For example C:\Reports\invoice.pdf or {report_path}. |
| Connection name | Yes | The connection name you gave in an earlier Connect to mailbox step, e.g. office-smtp. That connection must be an SMTP one. |
| Body (HTML) | No | The message as HTML, e.g. <p>Dear {customer}</p>. If you fill in both bodies, mail apps that can show HTML use this one and the rest show the plain text. |
| CC | No | Addresses to copy in. Separate several with a comma or a semicolon, e.g. finance@example.com, ap@example.com. |
| BCC | No | Addresses to copy in without the other recipients seeing them. Separate several with a comma or a semicolon. |
| From | No | The From address the recipients see, e.g. accounts@example.com. Fill this in; the server may refuse the message if it is blank or not an address your login may send as. |
