This article describes the RPA File functionality to close a file.

Description
The FILE Close a file function allows you to close a file.
Setting it up
To use the FILE Close a file function, follow these instructions:

Once on a process map:
- Navigate to the process where you would like to add the FILE Close a file function
- Click on the green button’s drop-down (right side of the green button labelled “Process”)
- On the menu that appears, click on the “+ Activity” item
- From here you can select the FILE Close a file option
- Click "Add" once you are done

This action does not produce output variables.
Errors

| File not open | The file is not currently open |
Tips
- Closes a previously opened file
- Always close files when done to release system resources
