This page summarises the privacy choices available to you under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), the privacy laws of other US states (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and the growing list of comparable laws), the EU and UK GDPR, and South Africa's POPIA. 1. Do We Sell or Share Your Personal Information?

No. Automize does not sell your personal information for money, and does not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the CPRA. We do not have a “Do Not Sell” obligation in the legal sense, but we honour an opt-out signal as if we did so that you have a single, predictable control surface.

2. Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal (the Sec-GPC: 1 header), we treat it as a valid opt-out of any sale or share of personal information, and as a request to limit the use of sensitive personal information to the purposes permitted by law. You do not need to do anything else — the signal is honoured automatically.

To enable GPC, install a browser or extension that supports it (Brave, DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser, the OptMeowt or Privacy Badger extensions). See globalprivacycontrol.org for details.

3. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you, where we got it, and what we do with it.
  • Access a copy of that information in a portable format.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you (with limited exceptions, e.g. legal record-keeping).
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share, but you can opt out anyway).
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information to that necessary to provide the service.
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (the ICO in the UK; an EU member-state DPA; the California Privacy Protection Agency or your state Attorney General in the US; the Information Regulator in South Africa).
  • Be free from retaliation for exercising any of these rights — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or downgrade your experience because you exercised a privacy right.

4. How to Exercise Your Rights

The fastest way is the privacy request form, which routes directly to our privacy team and starts the verification process. You can also email privacy@automize.co.za with the request.

What happens next:

  1. We acknowledge your request within 10 days.
  2. We verify your identity (typically by confirming control of the email address on the account, plus a second factor for sensitive requests like deletion).
  3. We respond within 45 days (or 30 days under GDPR), with a possible 45-day extension if the request is complex.
  4. For deletion, we delete or de-identify the data, instruct our sub-processors to do the same, and confirm completion to you. Some data is retained where law requires (e.g. tax records).

5. Authorised Agents

You may use an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will need:

  • Written permission from you authorising the agent to act on your behalf, OR a power of attorney.
  • Verification of your identity (we may contact you directly to confirm).

7. Sensitive Personal Information

We do not collect or process “sensitive personal information” as defined under the CPRA (e.g. precise geolocation, government identifiers, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, biometric data, sexual orientation, contents of private communications) for any purpose other than what is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for.

8. Children

Automize is a B2B platform and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact privacy@automize.co.za and we will delete it.
